SURVIVORS Thanks You!
Caminando Juntos is a Spanish speaking group for clients to discuss their thoughts, feelings and experiences as immigrants including in detention centers. It is peer-support style with the group choosing their own topics, setting ground rules, and leading the discussions. The name of the group translates to "walking together" which is indicative of the theme and approach of the group.
The Women’s Expressive Arts Group, “Connect, Create, Rejuvenate,” meets on a weekly basis. This is a women’s rehabilitative group which reduces stress for clients through healing arts and creative practices such as expressive arts, deep breathing, sound therapy, and simple movement. The group has created soul collage, multi-media books, prayer flags, snow globes, and much more. The group is co-led by SURVIVORS staff Nance Lovell and Dr. Julie Kuck. It takes place at Julie’s office in the community. For more information or to sign up, please discuss the group with your assigned Case Manager.
