“Breaking Barriers” Transitional Age Youth Group

Breaking Barriers is a space for youth and young adults (15- 25) to begin to explore their well-being. Topics revolve around mental health, the stigma of mental health, loss, the connection between mental wellness and sexual health and much more.

Cultural Orientation: Education (in-person or online)

SURVIVORS Suite 205 or Online

Session focused on education for both children and adults. Participants will learn about laws and
customs regarding public schooling for children in the United States and how to become involved in
their child’s education. They will also learn about how to balance working while going to school.

Interpretation available if attending in-person. Orientation is also offered online in English.

Women’s Expressive Arts Group (Off-Site)

The Women’s Expressive Arts Group, “Connect, Create, Rejuvenate,” meets on a weekly basis. This is a women’s rehabilitative group which reduces stress for clients through healing arts and creative practices such as expressive arts, deep breathing, sound therapy, and simple movement. The group has created soul collage, multi-media books, prayer flags, snow globes, and much more. The group is co-led by SURVIVORS staff Nance Lovell and Dr. Julie Kuck. about the transportation offered in their community and how to get around with them. They will also
learn about the challenges and benefits of owning and driving a car.
